Romulus’ Holiday Winner’s Circle Classic 2012

20 Dec

This Friday and Saturday, the Romulus Eagles will host their annual Christmas Showcase with some of the area’s top teams participating.  Here is the schedule for the event:

Friday: 3pm-Windsor CC vs. Detroit Western; 4:40pm-Detroit Cody vs. River Rouge; 6:20pm-Detroit Henry Ford vs. Pontiac; 8pm-Walled Lake Western vs. Southfield Christian; 9:40pm-Romulus vs. Detroit Community

Saturday: 1pm-Novi CC vs. Ypsilanti Lincoln, 2:40pm-Gibraltor Carlson vs. Belleville; 4:20pm-Ann Arbor Skyline vs. Windsor CC; 6pm-Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy vs. Toledo Rogers, 7:40pm-Detroit Southeastern vs. Ann Arbor Pioneer; 9:20pm-Romulus vs. Detroit Douglass

There are a couple of games that intrigue me.  One of them is the Romulus vs. Community game.  Romulus has several kids who are committed to play division one college basketball including, Rhode Island commit EC Matthews, Wes Clark who has committed to Missouri, and Leo Edwards a Louisiana Tech commit.  Also from the Eagles, watch jr. guard Juwan Clark and senior guards Lowell Wade and Jalon Plummer.  Community has South Florida commit Bo Zeigler, and not to mention a name to remember for the future, Jerrell Martin a forward.

On day two, once again, the Eagles square up against another one of the state’s top teams, this time being Detroit Douglass.  On the Hurricanes  is a class of 2014 standout, Darrell Davis who is regarded to be one of the top players in not only the DPS, but the State of Michigan.

Should be a great two day event at Romulus, top teams going at it against each other, what else could a high school basketball fan ask for?
