Game of the Week September 7

6 Sep

Douglass @ East English 7:00 PM

As already mentioned in previous posts, most of the players on East English are from the former Crockett. So this game will feature last years Division 1 and Division 2 city champions. Both teams have high-powered offenses who can put up the points. Each team has a game changer at the running back position. East English running back Desmond King recorded 225 rushing yards on 28 carries last week in a 34-26 win at King. Desmond will also have a chance to make history on the defensive side of the ball as well. If he records 2 more interceptions he will tie the state record for most interceptions in a career. An east side battle is coming up this week with city playoff implications on the line. This one will ought to be a classic.

Game of the Week August 31st

30 Aug

East English @ King 7:00 PM

Even though East English has a different name, most of the players are from Crockett and this will be a rematch of last years Division 1 city championship games. This is the first league game for both teams and both will look to bounce back after tough losses at the Prep Kickoff Classic. The Bulldogs lost a 21-14 game to the Oak Park Knights while the Crusaders lost a wild 21-20 game to the Bluejays of Southfield. In that game, King turned the ball over almost 10 times. They will certainly have to clean that up if they want to win against a very good and experienced Bulldog defense. What should be an interesting matchup in this game
will be on the perimeter. King has multiple receivers they can go to on any down, East English will look to their defesive backs to try to stop the highly praised passing game of the Crusaders. This game will also be the first Detroit Public School game of the week.
